How to Choose High-Converting Nutra Affiliate Offers?

I've been stuck on this for a while, so I thought I'd ask here. Every time I look at nutra affiliate offers, they all seem "promising" at first. Good payouts, nice landing pages, decent claims... but when I actually try promoting them, results are hit or miss.

It makes me wonder if I'm choosing the wrong offers or just not understanding what really makes one convert better than another.
The issue I kept running into

At the beginning, I mostly picked offers based on payout. Higher commission sounded like a no-brainer, right? But that didn't really work out. Some of those high-paying offers barely converted.

I also tried going with trending products, thinking demand would automatically mean better results. But again, not always true. Sometimes the competition was just too high, or the audience didn't trust the product enough.
What I started doing differently

After a few failed attempts, I slowed down and started looking beyond just numbers. One thing I noticed was that offers with simple and clear messaging worked better for me. If I couldn't quickly understand what the product was about, chances are users wouldn't either.

I also began paying attention to the landing page quality. Not in a technical way, just from a user point of view. Does it feel believable? Is it easy to follow? That alone helped me filter out a lot of weak options.

While digging around, I came across this page on Nutra Affiliate Offers. It didn't magically fix everything, but it did give me a better way to think about choosing offers instead of just guessing.
What seems to help now

Right now, I focus more on how well an offer matches a specific audience instead of trying to push something to everyone. Even a decent offer can perform well if it's shown to the right people.

Another thing is testing small before going big. I used to go all in too quickly, but now I try things out with a smaller budget first. Saves a lot of frustration.
Still figuring things out

I wouldn't say I've mastered picking high-converting nutra affiliate offers yet. But avoiding the "highest payout trap" and focusing more on clarity and audience match has definitely improved my results.

Curious how others here decide which offers are worth promoting. Do you rely on data, instinct, or just trial and error like me?
