Stress is really getting to me while waiting

Nobody really prepares you for the mental toll this whole thing takes, you know? Sure, they tell you about the physical pain and the paperwork, but I've been off work for about five months now after that warehouse accident and some days the anxiety is worse than my actual injury. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about money, wondering if I'll ever go back to normal, stressing about what the insurance adjuster really meant on that voicemail. My wife keeps telling me to relax, that it's out of my hands, but I can't help obsessing over every little detail and reading into every piece of mail that comes. The worst part is feeling useless, like I'm supposed to be the provider and instead I'm just sitting here icing my back and refreshing the same websites over and over. I stumbled across some articles about Workers Compensation Attorney Law that actually had a section on coping with the emotional side of things, which was surprisingly helpful and made me feel less alone in all this craziness. How do you guys deal with the constant uncertainty and waiting without losing your mind? I've tried keeping busy with stuff I can do sitting down, but my brain just keeps circling back to the same worries no matter what.
