Las tormentas obligan a doblar el esfuerzo en la pretemporada de Valgrande-Pajares

Las fuertes tormentas de agua y viento que azotaron la estación hace unos días han obligado a la Dirección de la Estación a doblar los esfuerzos para tener todo a punto para el inicio de la temporada.
Cientos de litros por metro cuadrado y vientos de más de 130 kilómetros por hora azotaron sin consuelo a nuestra querida estación hace unos días.
El resultado no se hizo esperar y parece ser que el arrastre de piedra y tierra, especialmente en las pistas de El Tubo y Patines, en las cuales se han centrado especialmente los movimientos de tierra a lo largo de la temporada para la instalación de las tuberías de cañones en la primera y la canalización del arroyo de la segunda, obturó algunas de las arquetas provocando que el agua drenara por mitad de las pistas.
Este desborde causó algunos argallos y grietas, sobre todo en la pista de El Tubo, justo en la zona donde se habían soterrado las tuberías de agua de los cañones y drenajes.
Ante la aparición de dichas grietas, debidas en gran medida a la falta de tiempo para el asentamiento del terreno tras las obras, la Dirección de la Estación ha puesto manos a la obra inmediatamente con la contratación de varios camiones y excavadoras, los cuales parecen ya haber concluido su trabajo de relleno de las grietas aparecidas y el desplazamiento de los argallos, aparecidos especialmente entre la caseta del telesquí de El Tubo y el comienzo de la pista de Patines.
Por su parte, el viento reinante en la zona, que superó hasta los 140 km/h. abatió varios paravientos e incluso provocó que varios cables del Telesilla cuatriplaza Brañillin se salieran de las poleas.
La Dirección de la Estación se encontraba a la espera de extender la hierba empacada sobre las zonas en que se habían realizado las obras, especialmente en la pista de Patines y frente al edificio de la Escuela de Esquí, de modo que realizara dos funciones; por un lado fomenta el agarre del hielo y la nieve sobre la pista y por otro que la propia semilla autóctona de esta hierba caega sobre la pista favoreciendo su crecimiento cara a las próximas temporadas. Este método es considerado más efectivo por la Dirección que la extensión de paja sobre las pistas, ya que esta última sólo es útil durante una temporada.
En vista de lo ocurrido, se ha decidido esperar a que toda la maquinaria abandone las pistas para proceder al depósito de la hierba, aprovechando mientras para terminar de realizar las correspondientes inspecciones rutinarias de los remontes mecánicos.
En estos momentos ya sólo nos queda esperar que todos los esfuerzos realizados se vean correspondidos por parte de la meteorología.
